EI is seeking a full-time, Environmental Scientist/Geologist for its Louisville, Kentucky operation. The position will provide project support for environmental projects and will be responsible for assisting with client deliverables and field investigations. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
- Perform project tasks in accordance with environmental and other applicable rules and regulations as well as with approved project plans.
- Collect field data, observe, document field work, as directed.
- Use field equipment properly and in accordance with equipment specifications.
- Assist with preparing technical reports, permit applications, correspondence, and plans. Activities include drafting text, preparing figures, and document reproduction.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and must have an undergraduate level degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Earth Science, Environmental Planning, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience in Phase II ESAs and asbestos surveys a plus.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Knowledge of basic scientific principles.
- Basic knowledge of the operation of computers, printers, and other office equipment.
- Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work independently, as well as, in a team environment and a positive professional attitude.
- Detail-oriented, working effectively in an office and field environment, and working with deadlines.
- Excellent technical writing and interpersonal communication skills.
