Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma/GED and up to 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid driver's license. Grade 1 (Hourly).

The primary responsibilities for the role of Security Officer include locking and unlocking university facilities on a scheduled basis, performing walk‑through security checks of university buildings, identifying potential security and safety hazards, monitoring parking lot facilities, providing motorist assistance, offering escorts upon request, and giving general information to visitors and the university community. The officer must be able to perform extensive sitting, standing, and walking;

communicate effectively; and operate two‑way radios and telephones.

• Perform scheduled locking/unlocking and provide security of University staff.
• Handle requests for access to University facilities.
• Submit written notifications of security and safety deficiencies.
• Provide motorist assistance.
• Offer escorts.
• Execute parking enforcement.
• Manage traffic control for special functions.
• Serve as first responder to fire and burglar alarms.

Compensation will be commensurate with candidate experience.
