We are looking for a security professional who demonstrates sound judgment, emotional control, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. The ideal candidate understands that awareness, prevention, respectful communication, and de-escalation are the first lines of defense.

The Armed Security Guard will maintain a visible security presence, monitor activity, control access, conduct patrols, respond to incidents, and complete accurate documentation. All responsibilities must be performed in accordance with Rhinox Research Group policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a professional, alert, and visible security presence.
  • Protect employees, contractors, visitors, facilities, property, and organizational assets.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, parking areas, restricted spaces, alarms, and surveillance systems.
  • Verify identification, credentials, appointments, deliveries, and access authorization.
  • Conduct routine and unscheduled patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, and surrounding areas.
  • Identify suspicious activity, unauthorized individuals, security breaches, safety hazards, and policy violations.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to disturbances, threats, alarms, medical emergencies, and requests for assistance.
  • Use verbal communication, conflict-management, and de-escalation techniques whenever safe and appropriate.
  • Contact law enforcement, fire services, emergency medical services, or organizational leadership when necessary.
  • Support emergency procedures, including evacuations, lockdowns, and incident-response operations.
  • Enforce site rules and security procedures consistently, professionally, and without bias.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, patrol records, and other required documentation.
  • Preserve incident scenes and protect relevant evidence until authorized personnel arrive.
  • Provide escorts for employees, visitors, contractors, or organizational property when assigned.
  • Maintain accountability for keys, access cards, radios, firearms, defensive equipment, and other issued property.
  • Attend required briefings, training sessions, safety meetings, and firearms qualifications.
  • Follow all policies related to firearms, defensive equipment, use of force, emergency response, reporting, and professional conduct.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Current armed security license, permit, registration, or credentials required to perform armed security work in Kentucky.
  • Current firearms permit and completion of all legally required firearms training and qualification standards.
  • Ability to pass all lawful background checks and contract screening requirements.
  • Strong observation, communication, judgment, and conflict-management skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, respectful, and decisive during stressful or rapidly changing situations.
  • Ability to read and follow post orders, emergency procedures, organizational policies, and written instructions.
  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate, objective, and timely written reports.
  • Basic proficiency with radios, smartphones, computers, access-control systems, and surveillance technology.
  • Reliable transportation, punctuality, and consistent attendance.
  • Ability to work independently while following established procedures and supervisory direction.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification when required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in armed security, military service, law enforcement, corrections, public safety, or emergency response.
  • Experience working in corporate, government, education, healthcare, residential, industrial, retail, or event-security environments.
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
  • Training in de-escalation, crisis intervention, defensive tactics, emergency management, trauma-informed response, or professional report writing.
  • Experience using electronic incident-reporting, surveillance, alarm, visitor-management, or access-control systems.
Firearm and Use-of-Force Expectations
