LLFlex is seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our maintenance team and support the safe, reliable operation of our manufacturing equipment. This is a third shift position.

Summary

Performs a variety of duties to plan, install and repair a variety of complex electrical equipment including operating equipment, control centers and panels, circuit breakers, transistor circuits, relays, etc. Diagnoses equipment problems and conducts repairs. Performs preventative maintenance activities. Requires journeyman level experience and expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Perform journeyman level electrician duties to install, maintain, and repair production equipment and machines.
  • Plan, layout, install and repair a wide variety of complex electrical equipment including automatic machine and process controls, control centers and panels, relays, circuit breakers, electronic controls, tape actuated controls and other equipment involving tube or transistor circuits.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, detect and replace defective control modules, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on production equipment including air compressors, nitrogen lines, and lighting systems, etc.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, etc. in performing duties.
  • Use a variety of equipment such as forklifts, man lifts, and bucket trucks in performing duties.
  • Complies with all safety related procedures and processes related to exposure to electrical hazards, e.g. lock out/ Tag Out, Arc Flash Hazard, Electrostatic discharge.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology with 3 years’ experience as an Electrician in a high-speed manufacturing environment. Alternatively, High School diploma or GED with formal electrical or related electrical apprenticeship of 4 or more years with 3 years’ experience as an Electrician in a high-speed manufacturing environment, or equivalent experience and proficiency attained though a formal electrician or related electrical apprenticeship.
  • Must possess and maintain Electrician license issued by state of Kentucky.
  • Must have thorough understanding of basic electrical and electronic theory, National Electrical Code Standards and troubleshooting logic and practice on AC and DC equipment and circuits.
  • Must use and read various types of instruments, meters, gauges, dials, etc; able to read, understand electrical schematics and PLC programs, diagnose equipment problems and determine if equipment or process operating properly. Calculations using advance trade mathematics frequently required to determine correct settings, and adjustments required to calibrate equipment and processes for specific performance.
  • Must be able to read and interpret and complex drawing and detailed specifications, etc. and carry out complicated written instructions in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to exercise good judgment and technical skill to plan and perform difficult work when working near power sources and electricity or when only general guidance is available.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Physical requirements

    Must be able to walk, stand, and climb for extended periods of time.
