Building Maintenance, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
The Maintenance Technician plays an important role in maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment for our clients, staff, and guests. This position is responsible for completing daily maintenance requests promptly and performing routine building checks to proactively prevent issues. This role requires someone dependable, hard‑working, and takes ownership of their work. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, responsive to work orders, and committed to supporting our mission by ensuring our facilities operate safely and efficiently.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Reviews and responds promptly to daily maintenance requests and electronic work orders
- Completes basic repairs in residential, office, and common areas
- Performs routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify and prevent potential issues
- Conducts basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repair tasks
- Maintains doors, windows, floors, walls, fixtures, and exterior areas
- Assists with facility preparation for inspections and audits
- Follows safety procedures and maintains a clean and organized work area
- Communicates clearly with leadership regarding maintenance needs, supply inventory, and project updates
- Demonstrates accountability by following through to ensure tasks are completed fully and correctly
- High School diploma or GED required
- 2–4 years of general maintenance, handyman, construction, or remodeling experience preferred
- Experience with painting, drywall repair, and basic carpentry strongly preferred
- Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical systems
- Basic computer skills required
, including the ability to use email, review electronic work orders, and utilize Microsoft Office programs - Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, climbing ladders, and using hand and power tools
This position involves exposure to dust, heat, noise, and outdoor weather conditions. The role requires regular walking, standing, lifting, and physical activity throughout the workday.
