Maintenance Worker II ZU

Essential Functions

Assists journeyman or independently inspects, repairs, and services electrical or plumbing fixtures and other equipment.

Examples of Work:

• Under general supervision, uses a variety of hand and power tools in performing maintenance on equipment, buildings and other structures.
• Repairs, replaces or rebuilds water pipelines or drains.
• Repairs or rebuilds locks to ensure security of city property.
• Operates a variety of machinery such as backhoes, drill presses, or jackhammers.
• Cleans and services tanks to ensure that pumps and equipment are kept in proper working condition.

• Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work.
• Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Lifts and carries items weighing over 50 pounds in a team setting.

• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Must have two years of maintenance work experience.

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
