Creates a welcoming and safe atmosphere for all guests in the Day Shelter; provides daily supervision, monitoring, reporting, and interaction to guests; in coordination with other staff, plans, implements and evaluates activities that support our priority outcomes of Hope, Stability, & Success.

• Knowledge of basic recordkeeping skills and procedures.
• Ability to work on a computer effectively.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests in order to control, lead, and motivate behavior.
• Ability to maintain the security and confidentiality of client records.

High School diploma or GED and one year experience in social service or related field or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• Valid State Driver’s License
• Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) approval required
• Background check report required
• First Aid & CPR Certification (we can train)
• Annual Tuberculosis (TB) skin test

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull (less than 25lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment.

Light mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting.

Work is performed in a normal social service housing and office environment where there are moderate discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

• Health Insurance provided the first of the month following 90 days of employment
