About This Position
Develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications and services on the Waystar Claims platform. You will contribute to C#/.NET microservices, event‑driven messaging, and SQL Server data tiers, working alongside senior engineers and architects to deliver reliable, high‑quality healthcare revenue cycle solutions.
Responsibilities- Develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications and services using C#/.NET.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and teammates to understand requirements and deliver well‑scoped technical solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, well‑documented, and maintainable code adhering to Waystar’s coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, giving and incorporating constructive feedback to maintain code quality.
- Troubleshoot and debug software issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Waystar’s software development processes and tooling.
- Develop and maintain automated tests (unit and integration) to ensure software reliability and stability.
- Monitor application behavior using Splunk and other observability tools; surface and escalate performance concerns.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying new approaches within your area of work.
- Participate in technical design discussions for new features, contributing implementation‑level insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3–5 years of professional software development experience with a track record of delivering production‑quality software.
- Proficiency in C# and .NET (both .NET 8 and .NET Framework); solid understanding of the .NET ecosystem.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object‑oriented design principles.
- Experience with SQL Server — writing queries, stored procedures, and understanding basic schema design.
- Experience working within microservices and distributed systems that use asynchronous, message‑based architectures (e.g., Rabbit
MQ). - Working knowledge of software development best practices including Agile methodologies, CI/CD (Azure Dev Ops Pipelines), and automated testing.
- Familiarity with Git‑based version control and Git Hub pull request workflows.
- Good problem‑solving, analytical, and critical‑thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to manage your own tasks and priorities with guidance in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Helm chart‑based Kubernetes deployments.
- Experience with Redis for distributed caching.
- Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse technologies.
- Familiarity with structured logging and observability tools such as Splunk.
- Knowledge of X12 EDI healthcare transaction standards (837 claim submission, 835 remittance advice, 270/271 eligibility inquiry/response).
- Knowledge of healthcare IT standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) or prior experience in the healthcare revenue cycle industry.
