Job Description- 3‑year entry‑level rotational development program based in Louisville, KY.
- Develop in C for production code and scripting languages such as Lua and JavaScript for tooling.
- Work in a resource‑constrained environment with no heap, primarily on bare metal, with some projects using an RTOS.
- Use Git, the industry‑leading version control system.
- Participate in Agile development.
- Focus heavily on Test‑Driven Development.
- Use continuous integration to automate builds and identify issues quickly.
- Compete for and attend software conferences as part of continuous learning.
- Contribute to connected appliance development, including creating debug‑friendly platforms and enabling IoT functionality.
- Engage with an active EEDP community, receiving leadership and social opportunities.
- Share knowledge in a supportive team culture; the software team enjoys a relaxed dress code, supportive managers, and recreational amenities.
- Complete a GE Appliances-sponsored master’s degree if not already earned.
- Complete GE Appliances‑specific and relevant technical coursework.
- Receive targeted training from seasoned engineers and participate in projects to develop into well‑rounded software engineers.
- Rotate through 4 to 6 teams, each for roughly six months, with one year of focused rotation.
- Participate in daily activities such as scoping work, identifying requirements, creating and refining designs, implementing 100% unit‑tested code, bench testing, and supporting Software Quality Assurance.
- Act as a “buddy” to mentor software co‑ops.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
- Availability to work in Louisville, KY.
- Passion for software development.

- Strong work ethic.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Related coursework beyond degree requirements.
- Completion of at least two co‑op rotations or internships prior to graduation.
