Job Description- 3‑year entry‑level rotational development program based in Louisville, KY
- Develop in C (production code) and scripting languages like Lua and JavaScript (tooling)
- Work in a resource‑constrained environment with generally no heap, primarily on bare metal with some RTOS projects
- Use Git for version control
- Practice Agile methodology
- Apply Test‑Driven Development (TDD) for coding
- Automate builds and identify issues quickly through continuous integration
- Participate in continuous learning and attend software conferences
- Develop connected appliances, creating highly debuggable platforms for development and enabling IoT functionality
- Engage in an active EEDP community with leadership and social opportunities
- Complete a GE Appliances‑sponsored Master’s degree if not already earned
- Complete GE Appliances‑specific and relevant technical coursework
- Receive targeted training from seasoned engineers and participate in projects to develop into well‑rounded software engineers
- Rotate teams 4 to 6 times; each rotation typically 6 months, with one 1‑year rotation
- Participate in daily software team activities: scoping work, identifying requirements, creating and refining designs, implementing 100% unit‑tested code, bench testing, and supporting Software Quality Assurance
- Mentor software co‑ops as a “buddy”
- Bachelor’s degree or better in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering degree
- Cumulative GPA ≥ 3.0 (out of 4.0)
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
- Position located in Louisville, KY

- Related coursework
- Completed two or more co‑op rotations/internships prior to graduation
