The RoleHybrid Working Requirement:
Candidates should be able to attend our Marousi, Athens office at least once every two weeks. Please note that travel or commuting expenses will not be covered for candidates residing outside Attiki or outside a reasonable commuting distance.
Scope of Tasks
- Leading and consistently delivering on projects of highly ambiguous scope, high complexity, and critical business impact at a team or domain level
- Taking end-to-end technical leadership of selected roadmap initiatives, including driving architectural discussions and design reviews
- Aligning engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders around the technical direction while providing proactive technical updates
- Ensuring high implementation quality across the team ensuring all code has adequate automated test coverage. Actively stepping in to unblock others when necessary
- Linking technical contributions back to business impact and helping others understand and buy into the technical vision for the area
- Responding to the highest priority business problems or "fires" by resolving them quickly and implementing strategies to avoid them in the future
- Leading the refactoring of complex systems and making pragmatic trade-offs between perfection and technical debt in line with business priorities
- Contributing to architecture initiatives and improving the engineering discipline's practices, including the state of test frameworks and dependencies
- Resolving complex performance issues and competently debugging major production incidents under pressure
- Fostering effective collaboration between product, engineering, and design to ensure the team focuses on work that drives quarterly goals
- Actively contributing to the engineering backlog by identifying and prioritizing tasks that reduce operational impact for engineers and admins
- Leverage Claude code and an agentic development lifecycle to deliver at pace, helping XTM to evolve our AIDLC in line with industry best practice.
- Being an experienced individual contributor who brings distinct strengths and is self-aware of how to use them to lead a team or domain
- Demonstrating the ability to consistently lead the team to good technical outcomes while factoring in stability, reliability, and monitoring
- Possessing deep knowledge of frameworks and tools used in the SDLC with the ability to mentor other team members effectively
- Having a track record of being recognized for highly impactful technical contributions of the highest quality
- Showing strong product awareness and offering valuable contributions to quarterly planning and the setting of the team vision
- Communicating effectively when representing the team to non-technical stakeholders such as legal, compliance, sales, or support
- Proactively contributing to the betterment of other engineers through mentoring and providing constructive, candid, and actionable feedback
- Staying up to date with technology trends and using this knowledge to contribute to the team’s long-term strategy
- Working to enable groups of others to improve coding standards and awareness of best practices around performance, scale, and security
- Tackling problems before they can do harm by knowing which organizational levers to pull to bring about change with effective momentum
- Possessing English language skills at a minimum B2 level to confidently articulate risks and lead strategic discussions
- Possessing a keen desire to work in an agentic driven development organisation with experience in harness engineering desirable.
