AIRPLANE PILOT - TITLE 32, GS-2181-13

As an AIRPLANE PILOT - TITLE 32, GS-2181-13, you will pilot aircraft on assigned missions using advanced precision instrument flight techniques. Fly well within flight parameters to execute normal flight procedures and standard maneuvers in all weather conditions. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the aircraft systems and procedures. Maintain mission qualifications in the assigned airplane. Prepare for flights by reviewing weather information, studying maps and charts, planning alternate routes and destination, reviewing fuel requirements, estimating flying time, verifying maintenance conditions, performing preflight checks, conducting passenger and crew briefs, and obtaining proper clearances to begin the flight.

Operate the airplane with the utmost safety. Accomplish post-flight activities such as maintaining airplane logs and forms, writing flight reports, coordinating with maintenance personnel on service conditions, and conducting post-flight checks. Serve as the Air Commander's representative when performing duties as Supervisor of Flying (SOF) and is responsible for the safe and efficient mission accomplishment of the unit. Design and coordinate comprehensive training plans and scenarios to provide technical aircrew training.

Adopt and implement policies to ensure accomplishment of all required training. Establish training goals and objectives for instrument flight and general operation of the UE airplane. Analyze post-mission debriefing and critiques to ensure accomplishment of assigned training events. Plan, develop and implement the unit flying schedule. Coordinate the operational requirements with the Aircraft Maintenance Division, the FAA, and other agencies.
