ITG Communications is hiring a Warehouse Assistant in Louisville. KY

Purpose:

The Warehouse Assistant supports the daily warehouse operations by assisting in inventory handling, shipping, receiving, and facility organization. This hands-on role is essential in maintaining the flow of goods, equipment, and supplies within the warehouse and supporting the Operations Manager in delivering efficient, accurate, and compliant service to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Open and close warehouse facility according to operational schedules.

• Receive, inspect, sort, and record all incoming and outgoing shipments.

• Ensure all inventory is properly checked in, processed, and placed in the correct locations.

• Operate warehouse equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, and box truck as needed.

• Support compliance with customer requirements for handling, packing, and delivery.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety in the warehouse.

• Monitor and assist in staging, loading, and delivering materials.

• Track and support warehouse performance metrics and improvements.

• Communicate professionally with vendors, contractors, customers, and internal staff.

• Assist the Operations Manager in resolving on-site issues and escalating concerns when needed.

• Understand DOT and basic logistics requirements to assist with route planning and compliance.

• Perform other duties as assigned in support of warehouse and operational goals.

Lift 50 pounds or greater

Receive and record new inventory as delivered.

Inspect & sort, all inbound / outbound receipts to confirm properly checked in, processed and in correct location.

Strong understanding and experience of developing and managing metric orientated logistics/warehousing/inventory management processes and the ability to measure, analyze, improve and control and take ownership of the processes.

Knowledge of all customers, employees and contractors. As well as communicating a clear understanding of the customer requirements.

Professional and appropriate interaction with contractors, vendors, customers and employees.

A strong understanding of pricing, route analysis, to assist in the details with Managers.

Understanding of DOT requirements,

Assists the Manager in the understanding and implementation of customer requirements including but not limited to security, handling, and packing, sorting, receiving, loading and delivering.

Operates various equipment including but not limited to: forklift, pallet jack, hand truck and box truck to ensure products are staged or stored in appropriate locations within the warehouse.

Assist Manager to ensure all standard operating procedures are followed. Makes the Manager aware of any issues or incidents that cannot be resolved at with customers, employees, contractors, or vendors.

Monitors and measures receiving and warehouse performance for accuracy assists in staging, sorting, loading, receiving, and delivering of various products.

Might Drive Company leased or owned equipment to ensure customer's needs are met.

Willingly completes other duties as assigned to meet the strategic and operational and financial objectives.

Requirements

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

• 1-2 years in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics support role preferred

• Equipment operation certification (forklift, etc.) a plus

Exposure:

• Hands-on warehouse operations and logistics workflows

• Interaction with third-party vendors, drivers, and contractors

• Physical labor including lifting, driving, and equipment handling

• Familiarity with shipping/receiving software, safety procedures, and DOT basics
