Schedule
- 40 hours per week.
- Typically either an 8 hour shift and/or 10 hour shifts between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:00 or as assigned.
- Candidate must be flexible to work different days, schedules, hours or overtime based on business needs.
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment, including warehousing, fulfillment, transportation, inventory management, and demand, supply and manufacturing planning. Warehouse Operations manages manual or automated tasks for receipt, storage, and shipment of product, covering functions such as receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, and delivery. The Specialist, Warehouse Operations ensures the efficient flow of products from vendor receipt to shipment to internal and external customers, while following safety and quality control procedures.
Responsibilities- Leads group training with peers as needed, including standard training videos and assessments for safety, quality control, and warehouse equipment. Cross-trains staff to cover all facility departments as identified by site leadership.
- Order Fulfillment & Processing:
Prepare and complete orders for shipping according to schedule (pick, pack, and ship). - Inventory Management:
Perform routine inventory controls, cycle counts, and follow defined quality standards; investigate discrepancies and resolve them. - Receiving & Storage:
Receive and process warehouse stocked products (unload, inspect, label, and store correctly in designated areas) and record inspection results. - Quality & Safety Compliance:
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment; strictly follow company procedures, rules, and safety regulations, and participate in EH&S teams or committees to update policies and training. - Participate in focused, on-the-job training for specific departments or teams to improve daily functioning and implement operational changes.
- Communicate regularly with Supervisors and Managers to discuss training needs and cross-training opportunities.
- Coordinate with EH&S and other stakeholders on training and onboarding documentation.
- Equipment Operation:
Safely operate and inspect warehouse equipment; report any maintenance needs. Specialists are expected to be licensed forklift operators (training provided by Cardinal Health). - Answer phone calls and emails for the facility and follow defined processes to resolve action items, escalating to management as needed.
- 0-2 years of experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Past experience onboarding new trainees preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) strongly preferred.
- Material handling equipment experience (forklift and pallet jacks) strongly preferred.
- Ability to safely manage/palletize various materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Proficiency in SAP preferred.
- Demonstrates basic material handling, packaging, and warehouse equipment skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in shipping hazardous or dangerous goods preferred.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
