Material Handler

Alro Steel Corporation Careers is seeking 2nd and 3rd Shift Material Handlers to support our wholesale metals distribution operation. In this role, you will safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment to load, unload, and move steel, industrial supplies, and plastics. Responsibilities include pulling and staging orders, verifying sizes and counts, basic measuring and banding, and maintaining accurate inventory.

You'll work in a fast-paced, safety-focused warehouse, joining a family-owned team that values integrity, training, and promotion from within.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment
• Load, unload, and move metal products according to work orders
• Pick, stage, and prepare orders for shipment and customer pickup
• Verify material sizes, grades, counts, and labels for accuracy
• Perform basic measurements, cutting, and banding as required
• Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards
• Use warehouse systems to track inventory and complete transactions
• Inspect material and report damage, shortages, or quality issues
• Support team members to meet daily production and shipping goals
• Work 2nd and 3rd shift schedules with overtime as needed
