Forklift Operator Job Description

This role involves operating sit-down forklifts and reach trucks to move, load, and organize materials efficiently and safely within a fast-paced warehouse environment. The forklift operator supports inventory accuracy, material handling, and order picking while working closely with a team to meet production goals and deadlines.

• Operate sit-down forklifts and reach trucks safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the facility.
• Load and unload materials from trucks, racks, and storage areas while maintaining proper handling procedures.
• Perform material handling tasks such as staging, organizing, and relocating products to designated locations.
• Support inventory activities by accurately picking, placing, and tracking materials as directed.
• Assist with order picking and preparation to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of production and shipping requirements.
• Follow established safety guidelines and operational procedures while operating equipment and handling materials.
• Work efficiently to meet daily production goals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with coworkers in a team-oriented setting to maintain a smooth and organized workflow.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring that equipment and materials are stored safely and properly.

• Proven ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely and effectively.
• Experience operating a reach truck in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Hands-on experience with material handling, including loading, unloading, and staging products.
• Basic inventory handling skills, including picking and placing materials accurately.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and follow instructions clearly.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting production goals and deadlines.
• Commitment to following safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.

• Previous experience in inventory, material handling, or warehouse operations.
• Comfort working in a team-oriented environment and collaborating with others.
• Reliability and strong work ethic, with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.

This is a Contract position based out of Walton, KY.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.50/hr.
