Full time 1.0, 7.5 Hours/Day, 177 Days Temporary. In all educational settings, support students' progress in achieving IEP goals in accordance with department and district standards. Assist teacher in implementing IEP goals for high needs students. Please see the attachment for a list of job duties and requirements. Starting rate of pay is $19.30 per hour plus benefits. Range 8 - Classified Salary Schedule Benefits include:

The Thompson School District is the 17th largest school district in Colorado, encompassing 362 square miles and serving approximately 15,000 students. Responsible for assisting teacher in carrying out IEP goals for high needs students.

• Maintain IEP goals and ensure compliance in small groups of students in accordance with department and District standards.
• Provide individualized, behavioral, and social-emotional supports for students who require special education services, ensuring strategies and interventions are tailored to each student's unique educational and affective needs.
• Assist students in the regular classroom and modify to their capability and/or need.
• Communicate with teachers regarding student needs and progress.
• Assist teacher by preparing materials for class such as making copies, bulletin boards, individual student instruction. May assists with clerical duties such as IEP's, tracking attendance, copying, filing, etc.
• May assist physically involved students in daily needs (g-tubes, walkers, toileting, transferring and lifting, etc).
• Communicate with regular education teachers as needed.
• Monitor recesses.
• Attend trainings related to duties of paraprofessional positions as assigned by the Special Education Department. (Example: Restraint, CPR, First Aide, District trainings)
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

• Basic math, writing, communication, and accounting skills.
