What You'll Do- Champion SHE by ensuring safe functional designs, adherence to Corporate and regulatory standards, providing SHE considerations during design reviews, following all SHE rules and standards, and performing field safety audits as opportunity presents.
- Prepare process flow sheets, mass and energy balances, material specifications, etc., to provide sufficient information for the Project Engineering group to prepare detailed specifications for cost estimation and construction.
- Provide technical assurance regarding designs, equipment specifications, piping systems, etc. for work executed by Engineering Contractors.
- Evaluate existing chemical processes and unit operations to improve SHE, operating efficiency, reliability, rate, output, and product quality.
- Develop and make recommendations for new process designs and modifications to ensure maximum operating efficiency, return on investment, and safety.
- Provide Operations troubleshooting, problem solving, and incident investigation support when required.
- Support Tolling initiatives including maximizing the value of internal tolling, supporting external tolling arrangements, and evaluating new tolling opportunities.
- Lead new product introductions including cross-functional monthly update meetings, updating monthly metrics, updating schedules, developing capital project estimates when required, and SAP implementation.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers and/or interns.
- Bachelor's degree required;
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering preferred. - 5+ years of experience required, preferably in manufacturing or process support (oil, gas, chemical, food, agriculture).
- PSM experience especially in regard to Management-of-Change and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.
- Experience in disciplined problem-solving techniques (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, RCFA, etc.) considered a plus.
- Experience with SAP Manufacturing systems a plus.
- Experience in building schedules vis MS Project a plus.
- Experience in utilizing process engineering skills to optimize existing processes, develop new processes, provide technical assurance/design review for capital projects, etc.
- Ability to drive change and implement improvements.
- Ability to network across the organization - Operations, R&D, Marketing, etc.
The salary range for this role, in Loveland, CO, is between $96,000 - $120,000. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.
