The Product Quality Engineer provides hands-on leadership to maintain and continuously improve product and process quality across Hach's business unit. This role drives quality improvement initiatives aligned with strategic objectives and partners closely with R&D, Operations, suppliers, and customer-facing teams to reduce risk, resolve issues, and improve customer outcomes.

This position is part of the Product Quality Engineering team located in Loveland, CO and will be on-site.

This role could include potential travel for up to 10% of the year.

In this role, a typical day will look like:
  • Drive daily Customer Defect Tracking & Resolution (CDT&R) activities, including KPI reporting (customer complaints, scrap, first-pass yield)
  • Lead quality activities across the reliability system, including design for reliability and manufacturability, design reviews, supplier quality, CDT&R, and Kaizen
  • Monitor product and process performance using statistical methods (SPC, capability studies, trend analysis)
  • Lead root-cause investigations using 8D, Ishikawa, and 5-Why within the Veralto Enterprise System (VES)
  • Provide on-floor technical support to analyze nonconformances and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Implement and sustain quality improvement initiatives, including CAPAs, SCARs, and structured problem-solving processes
  • Facilitate FMEAs for new product development and changes to existing products or processes
  • Partner cross-functionally to define SMART quality objectives and drive accountability to results
The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Quality)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a lean manufacturing environment with a quality focus
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of quality tools: PPAP, SPC, FMEA, 8D, and MSA
  • Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems, including planning, tools, and project execution
  • Practical experience reading technical drawings and developing or maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
