Engineering & Design Manager

We are seeking an experienced Engineering & Design Manager to lead a team of Designers and Mechanical Engineers responsible for developing custom packaging and transportation solutions for high-value, technically complex products.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who enjoys balancing engineering excellence, customer collaboration, manufacturability, and team development. You will guide projects from concept through production while helping shape the future of our engineering organization.

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Designers and Mechanical Engineers
• Drive projects from concept through manufacturing implementation
• Help improve engineering workflows, tools, and cross‑functional collaboration
• Support career development, performance management, and technical mentorship
• Foster a practical, collaborative engineering culture focused on accountability and problem‑solving

• Design custom packaging and transportation solutions for aerospace, defense, biomedical, and advanced manufacturing customers
• Translate customer requirements into manufacturable designs and production documentation
• Create CAD models, drawings, BOMs, cut lists, and engineering documentation
• Balance customer requirements, manufacturability, schedule, and cost constraints
• Support prototyping, quoting, and concept development activities

• Collaborate directly with customers to understand technical requirements and project goals
• Support the sales process with technical expertise and engineering input
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical and buildable Qualifications
  • Leadership and team management experience, with the ability to mentor and develop a high‑performing team.
  • Expertise in design processes, including CAD software knowledge, design analysis, and custom project engineering.
  • Strong project management skills, including timeline management, resource allocation, and meeting deliverable deadlines.
  • Experience in collaborating with production teams and clients to refine and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, materials selection, and industry standards in packaging and engineering.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills to manage client relationships and address technical challenges.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Design, or a related field (advanced degree or equivalent experience is a plus).
  • Familiarity with industries such as Aerospace, Medical, Semiconductor, or Industrial is highly desirable.
