Merrick & Company is seeking qualified applicants for a full‑time Senior Water Wastewater Project Manager position in our Denver, Greenwood Village, Colorado Springs, or Loveland, Colorado offices. What You’ll Do
  • Direct and manage a multi‑discipline team of design engineers or technicians on water and wastewater projects.
  • Provide input and participate in strategic planning for the team, working closely with Business Unit management to identify growth, project delivery, staffing, and financial performance.
  • Adopt and apply all Merrick policies and procedures on assignments.
  • Describe and deliver scope of work to clients.
  • Prepare and oversee fee proposals for water and wastewater design work.
  • Lead design teams and perform independent planning and design tasks, review others’ designs, prepare construction documents, and manage successful delivery of assigned projects.
  • Exercise initiative, judgment, and knowledge commensurate with the responsibilities.
  • Interface effectively with clients and community members.
  • Demonstrate in‑depth knowledge of water treatment and conveyance systems, wastewater treatment and conveyance, and associated infrastructure.
  • Show design experience, familiarity with State and Federal regulations, and some construction observation experience.
  • Maintain a long‑term record of business development, project management, and managing schedules and budgets for medium to large, complex civil engineering design efforts.
  • Manage design teams including engineers, CAD technicians, and sub‑consultants; oversee client development and successful proposals in collaboration with marketing and business development teams.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, government agencies, and community representatives.
  • Provide input and participate in strategic planning for the team.
  • Perform independent design tasks, peer reviews, prepare construction documents, cost estimates, organize project deliverables, and manage the effort of a design and permitting team.
  • Work successfully with team members in different offices or geographies.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited school.
  • Twenty (20) plus years of infrastructure engineering experience with at least fifteen (15) years in project management.
  • Colorado Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Strong technical design experience in water and wastewater projects.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and insurability under Merrick’s carrier.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Travel required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in engineering preferred but not required if successful project experience is demonstrated.
  • Envision (ENV SP) credential from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure preferred but not required.
