Position: Staff Professional (Scientist, Geologist, Engineer)

Position Overview

Staff Professional – Soil Sampling in Colorado. Supports a large oil/gas operator with field and office duties.

Responsibilities
  • Perform day-to-day operations, including development of site sampling strategy, soil sampling, hand auguring, installation of monitoring wells, and overseeing removal of impacted soil and groundwater.
  • Enter daily timesheets and submit on the specified schedule.
  • Support technical writing – proposals, technical reports, permits and related documents.
  • Provide timely, high-quality work product for both internal and external clients in the Oil/Gas sector.
  • Support the full environmental life cycle of multiple remediation projects, ranging from small to large scale, at various phases.
  • Coordinate and maintain quality, schedule, scope, budgets and client relations under project manager guidance.
  • Support data collection and database management for clients and internal use.
  • Ensure environmental compliance of field and lab data with permits and regulatory standards.
  • Practice safe work practices following company safety rules and OSHA regulations, attend required safety trainings.
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs and support team efforts.
  • May require travel and occasional overnight stays as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Valid driver’s license and successful completion of background check, motor vehicle records check and drug test.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering or equivalent science degree from an accredited four‑year institution.
  • Soil and groundwater experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Colorado Energy & Carbon Management Commission regulations is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office;
    ArcGIS and GPS field technologies preferred.
  • HAZWOPER certification preferred.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, organizational and time/project management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication; ability to write technical reports.
  • Self‑starter, can work independently managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Physical ability to perform outdoor field work and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
