Project Engineer Job Description

Project Engineer responsible for assessment of customer processes, development of conceptual design layouts for system proposals, support to the Sales department on new project opportunities. Also responsible for development of project plans, project costing, coordination of staff to support cross‑functional collaboration, creation and maintenance of comprehensive project documentation, evaluation of equipment under consideration to determine efficiency and cost effectiveness, recommendation of improvements to current product designs, determination of budget requirements for mechanical systems and submission of budgetary recommendations.

• Assess customer processes and develop conceptual design layouts for system proposals.
• Support Sales department on new project opportunities.
• Develop project plans, project costing, and coordinate staff to support cross‑functional collaboration.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
• Evaluate various equipment under consideration for purchase to determine efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Recommend improvements to current design of products.
• Determine budget requirements for mechanical systems and submit budgetary recommendations.

• Mechanical Engineering Degree or Technologist Diploma with equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in project management of air conveying systems.
• Direct knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing methodologies.
• Knowledge of Canadian/American Engineering standards (NFPA, Ontario Fire Code, Ontario Building Code, etc.).
• Proficient with AutoCAD.
• Ability to travel to the USA.
