Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking for the opportunity to lead complex engineering projects in a highly technical and innovative environment?
We are working with a leading engineering and technology organisation specialising in remote handling solutions, specialty engineering and technical services for hazardous environments. The business supports major OEMs and research organisations working at the forefront of advanced clean energy and next-generation nuclear technology.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer to take technical ownership of complex engineering projects and lead the development of innovative mechanical solutions throughout the full project lifecycle.
The RoleAs a Senior Project Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and support the development of engineering solutions from concept through to delivery.
Key responsibilities will include:- Leading and supporting engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Developing complex mechanical engineering solutions and equipment designs.
- Providing technical leadership and guidance to engineers and project teams.
- Supporting design, analysis, manufacturing and testing activities.
- Working closely with fabrication and machine shop teams.
- Ensuring engineering work meets relevant quality, safety and industry standards.
- Supporting projects involving complex machinery and hazardous environments.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 6+ years of mechanical design experience.
- At least 2 years of technical leadership experience.
- Experience designing complex mechanical equipment, machinery or engineered systems.
- Nuclear, highly regulated or hazardous environment experience would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of engineering calculations including FEA, stress, fatigue and vibration analysis.
- Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, P&IDs, EFDs and MFDs.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical fabrication, manufacturing techniques, materials and engineering processes.
- Experience using AutoCAD and 3D CAD software, such as Inventor, Solid Works and associated data management systems.
- Understanding of quality assurance standards such as ISO 9001 and NQA-1.
- Professional Engineer status, or working towards achieving this, would be beneficial.

The role operates on a 9/80 schedule, giving employees every other Friday off.
