Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Principal Engineer Systems – Network Sys Engr III (26-388) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. Based in Colorado Springs, CO, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.

This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2

BMC) program is the integrating element of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations systematically, collectively see the battle develop, and dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives.

C2

BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and phases of flight. It is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks, integrates, and synchronizes autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2

BMC is an integral part of all system ground and flight tests that verify and exercise the capabilities of current and future missile defense systems.

We are seeking a Networks Systems Engineer to act as the systems engineering subject matter expert (SME) for the Networks ART, leading network-focused systems engineering activities and ensuring alignment with C2

BMC Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) processes and practices.

In this role, you will:

• Serve as the Networks Systems Engineering SME for the NES ART, developing and implementing the Networks Systems Engineering Plan and advising on all systems engineering–related issues
• Act as the liaison between the Networks ART and the SEIT Resource Managed Area (RMA), ensuring systems engineering processes and procedures are aligned, standardized, and consistently applied
• Lead all Networks requirements activities, including:
• Identification and management of the Networks requirements baseline
• Development and maintenance of the Requirements Traceability Verification Matrix (RTVM)
• System and subsystem requirements allocation to ensure complete traceability from development through deployment
• Management of the Networks requirements sell-off plan
• Act as the systems engineering interface between the NES ART and the C2
  
  BMC SEIT team to ensure consistency of systems engineering principles and practices across the program
• Support systems engineering and architecture meetings internal to the National Team as well as with the government customer
