Job Summary
The Radiography Technologist I - Pain Management provides high-quality diagnostic and procedural imaging support for interventional pain management services. This role performs radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging to assist physicians in the accurate diagnosis and treatment of pain-related conditions. The technologist ensures safe, efficient imaging services while maintaining patient comfort, radiation safety, and compliance with regulatory and professional standards in an outpatient or procedural setting.
Responsibilities- Perform radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging procedures to support pain management interventions, including spinal injections, nerve blocks, and other interventional procedures.
- Prepare imaging equipment, procedural rooms, and supplies to ensure readiness and adherence to sterile technique as required.
- Position patients accurately to obtain optimal images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff during procedures to support efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
- Apply radiation safety principles, including ALARA standards, to protect patients, staff, and self.
- Verify imaging orders, patient identification, and procedural requirements prior to imaging.
- Ensure proper documentation, image labeling, and transfer to PACS or electronic medical records systems.
- Monitor and report equipment functionality, performing routine quality control checks and reporting issues promptly.
- Provide patient education regarding imaging procedures and address patient concerns before, during, and after exams.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards related to radiologic services.
- Minimum Required
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program. - Required Licensure/Certification:
Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (R) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R). Specialty ARRT certification(s) if required for position. State licensure if required by law. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. - Minimum Experience:
None Required. - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
