Summary

The intern provides therapy, therapeutic case management and/or parenting time services to client and family in accordance with the Clinical Services Treatment Model & Community Program Service Models. Learning, utilizing and applying evidence-based practices with our families such as Trust Based Relational Interventions (TBRI), Motivational Interviewing and Trauma Sensitivity alongside integration of school to field knowledge growth and foundations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide individual therapy, family therapy, and case management or visitation services (at a rate of a minimum of 5 client engagement hours/week).
  • Provide allied therapies, if applicable (including but not limited to: music, art, movement, recreation, occupational, vocational).
  • Complete the following assessments when applicable;
    Assessment based upon client and family treatment goals and program orientation.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, if applicable.
  • Develop crisis and safety plans.
  • Communicate with referral agents and supervisor about progress of the client, and significant needs or issues addressed during therapy, case management or visitation sessions.
  • Provide guidance to and engage in on‑going communication/support with Co‑Therapists, CoFacilitators or Co‑Case Managers, if applicable.
  • Provide family psycho‑educational activities tied to comprehensive treatment or case management, when applicable.
  • Coordinate services between various agencies.
  • Act as liaison between family, referring agencies, and other community organizations.
  • Participate in, and complete, all required training to equal 20 hours annually.
  • Maintain client files in the Electronic Health Care System.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and reports in a timely manner, in accordance with County, Medicaid and/or agency standards.
  • Follow through on service authorization requirements for each client.
  • Communicate with county agency and provide documentation in a timely manner to county professionals, when applicable.
  • Attend and actively participate in Clinical Services, Case Management, Family Time or other team meetings.
  • Appropriately access and utilize supervision resources.
  • Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines as well as agency compliance standards.
  • Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Report immediately any incidents of alleged abuse or neglect.
  • Depending on program, may be required to continue internship through school breaks (ex. Winter holiday break).
  • Other duties as assigned to meet necessary goals of the position.

  • Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in-person or on the telephone.
  • Position requires off‑site travel for meetings, county and client needs.
  • Ability to operate and have access to a safe and reliable vehicle at all times.
  • Willing and able to drive in various road and weather conditions.
  • Will use personal car or vehicle as required for travel and/or transportation.
