Human Resources Manager (Sole Practitioner)
We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to serve as the organization’s sole HR resource. This role is responsible for payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, and day-to-day HR operations for a workforce of approximately 100–110 employees. The position emphasizes accuracy, compliance, consistency, and practical resolution of employee-related issues.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR-related matters
- Administer employee benefits programs within a self-insured health plan
- Process payroll in Paylocity for bi-weekly hourly and monthly salaried employees, including payroll general ledger entries
- Coordinate with benefits brokers and third-party vendors
- Reconcile and maintain data between Selerix Systems and Paylocity
- Respond to, mitigate, and help resolve employee questions and issues related to payroll, benefits, policies, and workplace concerns
- Partner with leadership on employee relations matters, performance issues, and policy interpretation
- Support compliance with applicable federal and state laws, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, wage and hour, and payroll regulations
- Maintain HR records, documentation, and reporting
- Broad HR experience supporting payroll, benefits, and employee relations
- Hands-on payroll processing experience using Paylocity
- Experience administering employee benefits programs (self-insured preferred)
- Ability to post payroll general ledger entries and reconcile HR/payroll data
- Experience handling employee issues with discretion and sound judgment
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
, or equivalent experience - HR certifications such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or CPP
- Experience serving as a standalone or sole HR practitioner
- Experience with ACA reporting, ERISA documentation, or COBRA administration
- Multi-state payroll experience
- Experience partnering directly with executive leadership
- Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 annually,
commensurate with experience
