Business Analyst

Business Analyst with medical device and veterinary analyzers experience

Key Responsibilities:

Veterinary Diagnostic Systems Expertise:

  • Analyze and translate business and user needs into system designs tailored for veterinary analyzers (chemistry, hematology, pathology).
  • Collaborate with R&D and OEM teams on device integration, firmware/software lifecycle, and interoperability.
  • Evaluate and document diagnostic equipment performance and interface compatibility (e.g., LIS, PIMIS).

Cloud & On-Prem Integration (Azure-Focused):

  • Design hybrid architecture connecting on-prem OEM systems to Azure cloud services (IoT Hub, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Blob Storage).
  • Lead efforts in cloud migration, device telemetry ingestion, data lakes, and secure access control via Azure Active Directory.
  • Manage APIs and data pipelines supporting real-time diagnostics, alerts, and compliance logging.

OEM and Edge Technology

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with OEM hardware/software vendors for embedded system integrations, SDK utilization, and device lifecycle management.
  • Validate compatibility of local diagnostic equipment with cloud-enabled analytics, dashboards, and mobile platforms.

Precise Reporting and Data Management:

  • Define and build structured reports for diagnostic trends, device utilization, error rates, and lab throughput.
  • Leverage Power BI, Azure Monitor, and custom dashboards for near-real-time visualizations and KPI tracking.
  • Ensure traceability, audit-readiness, and compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in system analysis, healthcare IT, and medical or veterinary device integration.
  • In-depth knowledge of chemistry, hematology, and pathology analyzers from key OEMs (e.g., IDEXX, Abaxis, Heska, etc.).
  • Proven hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services including IoT, Dev Ops, Data Factory, Key Vault, and ARM templates.
  • Familiarity with device communication protocols (HL7, ASTM, POCT1-A, serial, TCP/IP).
  • Strong documentation and reporting capabilities using Power BI, SQL.
  • Experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory frameworks for diagnostic devices.

Preferred:

  • Certifications:

    Microsoft Certified:
    Azure Solutions Architect Expert / Azure IoT Developer.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Dev Ops tool chains (Terraform, Git Hub Actions, Azure Dev Ops).
  • Background in veterinary or animal health domain-specific data analytics and workflow optimization.
