Job Summary

Sets up and operates automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications. Follows engineering drawings, work order information, Manufacturing Assembly Procedures, SOPs, and other written and verbal specifications in the manufacturing process. Installs, modifies, moves, troubleshoots, repairs and dismantles machinery and equipment according to requisition established documentation (e.g., SOPs), layout plans, blueprints or other drawings.

Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies. Assembles mechanical units, fabricated parts/components and/or electrical/electronic systems to make sub-assemblies, assemblies or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures and miscellaneous equipment.

Essential Job Duties
  • Responsible for producing quality products per the build schedule
  • May operate several production machines or operations simultaneously
  • Report complicated equipment malfunctions to mechanics.
  • May be responsible for handling of and accurate disposal of chemical and non-chemical waste, some of which is hazardous and regulated.
  • Participate in team meetings, which includes planning daily work and resource utilization, problem solving, project work, etc.
  • Maintain visual management of part and raw material storage; clean and organized work area.
  • May be required to cross-train on other equipment or other areas as needed
Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures with a limited degree of supervision
  • Has developed proficiency through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience
  • Provides solutions to problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on existing precedents or procedures
  • 3-6 months horizontal mill experience
