The Assembly Foreman handles the daily tasks associated with running a fabrication and assembly shop. We are looking for someone who wants to build and grow a high-performance shop in the Northern Colorado region. You will be a key member of a growing company.
REPORTING TOProduction Manager
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Coordinate and direct daily tasks of shop personnel.
- Interview potential shop hires.
- Knowledge of welding per AWS using GMAW, FCAW, GTAW processes.
- Knowledge of manual mills, lathes, rolls, forklifts and other shop equipment.
- Ensure jobs are completed on time and meet customer requirements.
- Assemble custom equipment to print.
- Test custom equipment to written plans.
- Maintain a safe and clean shop.
- Conduct employee performance appraisals.
- Perform preventative maintenance.
- Ensure shop employees are working to JFT policies & procedures.
Strength and Stamina: The job involves lifting and moving parts or materials, typically up to 50lbs. The ability to stand for long periods (8+ hours) is required.
Manual Dexterity: Precise hand movements are necessary for handling tools, making adjustments to machines and operating a computer.
Visual Acuity: Good eyesight, including close vision and depth perception, is important for detailed work.
Mobility: Frequent bending, stooping, and crouching is required, along with the ability to maneuver around machinery and equipment.
Coordination: The role requires good hand-eye coordination to operate equipment safely and effectively.
Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members, customers and vendors.
TYPICAL
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Machine and fabrication shop environment around equipment such as water jet tables, lathes, milling machines, press brakes and forklifts. Welding operations are often taking place nearby. This job requires adherence to strict safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). JFT has implemented a 9/80 work schedule, and the office is closed every other Friday.
- 5- 10 years in a fabrication or machine shop environment.
- Well versed in GMAW, FCAW, GTAW processes.
- Well versed standard Fabrication Processes
- Supervisory, communication and team building skills.
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Teams, Word, Outlook).
This role requires immediate and routine access to restricted information under federal law, including but not limited to Export Controlled Information (ECI), Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information (UCNI), Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Department of Energy Official Use Only (DOE OUO), and/or ITAR‑controlled technical data. Under applicable DOE orders and client contracts, non‑U.S. citizen candidates (including lawful permanent residents) may require an approved DOE Foreign National Visit/Assignment (FNVA) before beginning work or accessing project information.
Because this position requires immediate access and project timelines do not accommodate new government approval processing, JFT may be unable to initiate or sponsor new FNVA approval processes or defer start dates pending FNVA approval for this role. Accordingly, hiring and placement into this role is contingent on the candidate's eligibility to access the required information and facilities as of the start date, including having any required government approvals already in place.
