Job Description
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) responsible for supporting plasma center operations, determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and communicating results to donors. Works under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

About the roleThe Medical Support Specialist will perform the following:
- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions as described in SOPs and follow applicable medical emergency procedures.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance.
- Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and coordinate evaluation with occupational health/ER.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate level nursing program with state requirements.
- Current license or certification in the state of assignment: LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Meeting state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA-approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Compensation and Benefits SummaryHourly wage range: $28.16 - $38.72. The actual wage may depend on qualifications, experience, and skills. U.S. employees may receive short-term incentives and yearly benefits such as sick time and vacation.
