Job Overview
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd, located in Loveland, Colorado.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of laboratory results (Serological Protein Electrophoresis – SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and respond to medical emergencies in accordance with SOPs, develop Center Physician standing orders, and manage donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance related to donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents, determine need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER, and refer to EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or completion of a recognized nursing education program meeting state requirements.
- Current state licensure or certification as an EMT‑Paramedic.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of clinical or hospital setting experience.
Hourly wage range: $28.16 – $38.72. Eligible for a $2000 sign‑on bonus.
