Job Overview
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. The role reports to the Plasma Center Manager and supports day‑to‑day plasma collection operations, donor eligibility assessment, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility and manage donor adverse events.
- Conduct informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE) results.
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including standing orders and emergency transport.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine requisite occupational health evaluation.
- Coordinate with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) guidance for employee incidents.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
- Provide center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) and follow guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of a recognized nursing program with state licensing.
- Current LPN or LVN license in the state where duties will be performed.
- CPR and AED certification.
- State‑required basic IV therapy competency.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.
Hourly wage range: $28.16 – $38.72 in Loveland, CO. Actual pay depends on qualifications and experience. Eligible for a $2,000 sign‑on bonus.
