You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you will work under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and the Center Physician for medical issues. You will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry, support center-level health and safety, and follow guidance provided by Bio Life Medical Affairs.

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of standing orders and donor transport to emergency care.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues.
• Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and refer to occupational health for further evaluation.
• Act as a pandemic coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations of community pandemic threats.

• High school diploma or graduate equivalent nursing program with state requirements.
• Current license or certification in the state of assignment (e.g., EMT‑Paramedic).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfillment of state IV therapy requirements.
• Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $26.88 - $36.96

The estimated hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. The offered wage will comply with applicable state or local minimum wage requirements.
