Position: Maintenance Worker Mariana Butte- Part Year

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring well-maintained, high quality, safe and aesthetically pleasing golf grounds, facilities and equipment.

Salary Range

Maintenance Worker Entry Level - $15.16 - $18.51

Maintenance Worker Level I - $15.76 - $21.27

Maintenance Worker Level II - $17.33 - $23.40

These ranges are based on qualifications and experience.

Position Details

This opportunity will remain open until filled.

Positions are part‑year lasting a maximum of 10 months and working less than 30 hours per week.

Essential Functions Entry
  • Maintains turf grass areas by mowing, watering, raking, and trimming while learning the basics of golf course maintenance.
  • Assists with golf course maintenance and provides excellent conditions and customer service to golfers.
Level I
  • Maintains turf grass areas.
  • Mowing, trimming, and topdressing of turf.
  • Assists with golf course maintenance and provides excellent conditions and customer service to golfers.
  • Assists with tee markers and course setup.
  • Assists with small projects.
  • Operates mowers, equipment and tools in the construction trade with little supervision.
Level II
  • Maintains turf areas ensuring quality playability of the surface.
  • Applies fertilizers periodically throughout the growing season.
  • Performs aerification, over seeding, and top dressing of greens, tees and other special areas.
  • Maintains irrigation systems.
  • Monitors and repairs problem areas, performs FST checks, raises valve boxes and heads, spots watering, syringing greens and adding additions to system.
  • Operates small to large‑size mowers, equipment and tools in the construction trade with little supervision.
  • Completes small projects.
  • Assists Mechanic in servicing and repairing golf course maintenance equipment.
  • Sets cups, tee markers and signs to facilitate speed of play and tournament requirements.
Other Job Functions
  • Performs other golf course maintenance duties as needed.
  • Assists with tee markers and basic course setup.
  • May assist staff to complete large tasks and projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education
  • High School Graduate or GED required.
Experience Entry
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age at time of hire.
  • Previous experience in golf course maintenance, irrigation, mechanical or labor and trades is preferred but not necessary.
Level I
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age at time of hire.
  • 1 year previous experience in golf course maintenance, irrigation, mechanical or labor and trades required.
Level II
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age at time of hire.
  • 2 years previous experience in golf course maintenance, irrigation, mechanical, and construction trades or landscape industry required.
Certifications
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Requires good work ethic.
  • Follow oral and written instructions.
  • Communicate effectively with co‑workers and the general public.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions Entry and Level I
  • Frequent moderate to considerable physical effort, including working from ladders in awkward positions; frequent use of light or medium‑weight objects (25‑50 lbs) and medium‑weight tools.
  • Frequent exposure to heat and noise while working outside in the elements.
  • Occasional exposure to marginal to moderate conditions that are unpredictable and may lead to injury.
Level II
  • Frequent light to moderate physical effort, including frequent standing or walking and maintaining arms and hands in the same position for repetitive tasks; frequently works with light objects and light hand tools.
  • Frequent exposure to heat and noise while working outside in the elements.
  • Occasional moderate to considerable physical effort, including working from ladders in awkward positions; frequent use of light or medium‑weight objects (25‑50 lbs) and medium‑weight tools.
  • Occasional exposure to marginal to moderate conditions that are unpredictable and may lead to injury.
