The EHS Specialist owns EHS programs at Mile High Labs – from OSHA compliance, hazardous waste management, and environmental permitting, while building a safety‑first culture that lives in daily operations. This role is both a technical authority and an organizational leader, responsible for protecting our people, our license to operate, and our reputation as a trusted global ingredient supplier.

Program Management & Regulatory Compliance- Implement, manage, and continuously improve EHS programs aligned with OSHA, CDPHE, DOT, NFPA, IFC, and other applicable standards
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, managing all communications, inspections, and submissions
- Maintain MHL's environmental permits including Air, Hazardous Waste (Large Quantity Generator), and Stormwater (No Exposure)
- Submit annual OSHA injury and illness data (Form 300A) via the Injury Tracking Application by the March 1 deadline
- Participate in daily operations meetings to review safety events, address EHS matters, and integrate safety priorities into day‑to‑day workflows
- Build relationships across departments to ensure EHS requirements are consistently understood and met
- Champion industrial hygiene practices including noise monitoring and flammable vapor monitoring
- Develop, deliver, and document comprehensive EHS training programs for all employees
- Conduct regular risk assessments, facility inspections, and compliance audits across all EHS program areas
- Identify compliance gaps and develop targeted corrective action plans
- Lead thorough investigations of all EHS incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Develop, maintain, and regularly exercise emergency response plans covering hazardous materials, flammable solvent exposures, and site evacuations
- Oversee the full hazardous waste management program, including waste profiling, audits, and regulatory communications
- Administer the Workers' Compensation program, including injury investigation, claims management, and OSHA 300 recordkeeping
- Develop and enforce strategies for injury prevention and PPE compliance
- Maintain all required EHS records including air permits, SDS, LOTO documentation, hazard assessments, HAZCOM, respirator fit tests, forklift certifications, confined space permits, and DOT Hazmat certifications
- Track, tabulate, and report EHS performance metrics to leadership on a regular cadence
- Manage EHS change control procedures in Veeva
- Coordinate with internal and external inspections and assist in regulatory agency inspections
- Ensure compliance gaps are identified, and action plans are developed to mitigate deficiencies
- Stay informed on emerging trends and best practices in industrial hygiene, environmental health, and safety management
