Role Overview
The Quality Technician independently performs advanced inspection activities to ensure manufactured components meet engineering, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role applies advanced metrology techniques, develops inspection methods, creates and executes CMM programs, and supports Quality Management System (QMS) processes in accordance with AS9100 and company standards. The position partners closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality issues, drive process improvements, and ensure consistent product conformity.
WhatYou’ll Do…
- Perform advanced dimensional and visual inspections using manual and automated metrology equipment
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to determine product conformity
- Create, validate, and execute CMM inspection programs using PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar software
- Utilize CAD models, CMMs, scanners, and other inspection technologies to support product verification
- Develop and implement inspection methods, standard work, and inspection documentation to meet customer and regulatory requirements
- Analyze inspection data and communicate trends, findings, and quality concerns to cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to investigate product quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Create, review, and maintain Customer Data Packets, Certificates of Conformance (CoC), calibration records, and other QMS documentation
- Identify, document, and help resolve nonconforming materials through approved quality systems
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and demonstrating compliance with AS9100 and company procedures
- Recommend improvements to inspection processes, equipment utilization, and quality documentation
- Mentor less experienced technicians on inspection methods, metrology equipment, and quality procedures
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications and quality software to maintain accurate inspection and quality records
- Follow all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, PPE requirements, and hazard reporting expectations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Four (4) or more years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in an AS9100, ISO 9001, or similarly regulated manufacturing environment
- Two (2) or more years of experience programming and operating coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
- Experience developing inspection methods, quality documentation, and work instructions
- Skills & Competencies
- Advanced knowledge of quality inspection principles, metrology, and manufacturing processes
- Advanced proficiency interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
- Proficiency programming and operating CMMs using PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent software
- Experience utilizing CAD models and automated inspection equipment to verify product conformity
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), calibration systems, and document control
- Ability to analyze inspection results and recommend corrective actions and process improvements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently while leading quality initiatives across cross‑functional teams
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Experience working in additive manufacturing, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries
- Experience with Keyence measurement systems, GOM scanners, or other advanced metrology technologies
- Internal auditing experience supporting AS9100 or ISO standards
