Summary
The Freight Coordinator position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement, “to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, the Freight Coordinator performs a variety of operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g. receiving and unpacking of daily shipments, shipping merchandise, backroom maintenance, and routine cleaning of facilities).
Compensation & BenefitsPay range: $15.16-$17/hr the estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

- Compare and verify merchandise invoices to items received to ensure shipments are correct
- Send any alterations, layaways, or special orders to guests via Fed Ex
- Check accuracy of freight packing slips and transfer slips
- Ensure all transfers have been processed through the register and items match what you are shipping out
- Fold items and place them in appropriate sized boxes for proper presentation when unpacked
- Remove pins and plastic from merchandise shipped in
- Place Sensormatic tags on each garment in the designated place
- Hang, fold and steam merchandise for the sales floor as needed
- Assist with floor projects when necessary
- Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as required
- Maintain knowledge of point‑of‑sale (POS) software
- Receive freight boxes and store transfers through the register
- Document discrepancies in store mail and file non‑errors for 30 days
- Maintain all shipment‑related paperwork
- Recognize and report security risks and thefts
- Create Fed Ex labels for all outgoing packages and sort by required transit time
- Send in recalls and return‑to‑vendor (RTV) shipments weekly
- Keep supplies in stock and organized (boxes, transfer bags, printer paper, hangers, sensors, etc.)
- Organize fixtures and shelving and keep work area neat and clean
- Maintain daily work files in order
- Communicate policy violations to Store Manager, District Manager and/or Human Resources confidentially
- Provide feedback on merchandise handling to Store Manager, Assistant Manager and Floor Leaders
- Apply the Buckle Code of Ethics and all Buckle policies, procedures and handbooks
- Fulfill the mission statement with high customer service and positive teamwork
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or ExperienceNo prior experience or training required.
Additional RequirementsMust be 18 years of age or older.
Physical DemandsStand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach, climb, balance, jump, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear regularly. Occasionally sit. Lifting and maneuvering 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and focus adjustment.
Work EnvironmentRetail store setting with moderate noise level.
