Position: Staff Professional (Scientist, Geologist, Engineer)

Responsibilities

Field Sampling & Investigation:
Perform soil, groundwater, and environmental media sampling in accordance with project plans and regulatory requirements, assist with development and execution of site sampling strategies, conduct soil sampling with hand augers and other field equipment, support installation and development of groundwater monitoring wells, assist with oversight of impacted soil excavation and groundwater remediation activities, collect accurate field measurements, observations, and documentation, maintain field equipment and ensure proper calibration and operation.

Project Support:
Support multiple environmental remediation and compliance projects simultaneously, assist with preparation of project deliverables, technical reports, permits, permit‑related documentation, and proposals, support data collection, management, and quality assurance efforts, ensure environmental field and laboratory data comply with applicable permits and regulatory standards, provide quality, accurate, and timely work products for both internal and external clients.

Project Coordination:
Under the direction of the Project Manager, assist with tracking project schedules, budgets, scopes of work, and client deliverables, communicate professionally with clients, subcontractors, laboratories, and regulatory agencies as directed, support the full lifecycle of environmental remediation projects from investigation through closure.

Administrative Responsibilities:
Complete daily field logs, chain‑of‑custody documentation, and project records, enter timesheets daily and submit accurately and on time each Friday, the 15th, and the last day of each month, maintain project documentation and electronic databases.

Health, Safety & Compliance:
Follow all company health and safety policies, client requirements, and OSHA regulations, participate in all required safety meetings and training programs, utilize proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices, support continuous improvement initiatives and team objectives.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related scientific discipline from an accredited four‑year college or university.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to successfully pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle records check, and pre‑employment drug screening.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time‑management, and project‑management abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Physical ability to perform outdoor field work in varying weather and site conditions; ability to lift, carry, and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with soil and groundwater sampling, environmental site investigations, or remediation projects.
  • Familiarity with Colorado Energy & Carbon Management Commission (ECMC) regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
  • OSHA 40‑Hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Experience using ArcGIS, GPS field technologies, and environmental data collection platforms.
  • Exposure to environmental consulting, oil and gas operations, or regulatory compliance programs.
