General Laborer II Streets- Part

Job Summary

Performs duties for the Streets Division. Work hours are Monday through Thursday 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Overtime may be required. The hiring range is $19.00–$21.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. This position is a 10‑month maximum, 40 hours per week, with medical coverage option only.

• Operates a variety of equipment such as tractor and various mowing equipment.
• Drives truck to deliver personnel and equipment to work sites and ensures truck is stocked with necessary materials and tools.
• Prepares vehicle mileage reports and performs routine maintenance on assigned vehicle.
• Performs debris cleanup at work sites.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High School graduate or GED required.
• Minimum age 18 at time of hire.
• Previous work experience with tractors, mowers, and weed eaters preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

• Working knowledge in the operation of light construction and mowing equipment such as pick‑up, tractor, mower, etc.
• Follows oral instructions and communicates effectively with co‑workers and crew leaders.
• Works in adverse conditions, such as extreme weather, heavy traffic, equipment noise, close proximity to moving vehicles, and around fuels and fumes.

• Frequent moderate to considerable physical effort, including working from ladders in awkward positions; frequent use of light or medium weight objects (25−50 lbs) and medium weight tools.
• Frequent exposure to heat and noise, and working outside in the elements.
• Occasional exposure to hazards that are predictable or well protected against.

This position is essential personnel required to report for duty in response to community emergencies (e.g., natural disaster, fire, flood, blizzard).

• Retirement – 457 Plan (employee funded plan)
• Medical Leave – accrue 1 hour of leave per 30 hours worked (up to 48 hours)
• Employees working more than 30 hours per week are eligible to enroll in one of two medical plan options (per the ACA)
