Description

With the supervision of a Physician or must be a physician, performs complete histories and physicals on patents of all ages to establish and record patent's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan to provide continuing medical care, including daily examinations, writing orders, chart notes, discharging patents and completing discharge summaries. This medical care may be in a variety of clinical settings.

NP's practice in a setting that requires the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to manage acute and chronic health problems. Must have the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams. Performs all duties and services in full compliance with NLHD's policies and protocols.

  • Examines, diagnoses and treats patients of all ages
  • Acts as primary consultant on all cases referred by other staff providers of NLHD.
  • Completes medical charts after each visit.
  • Assists in internal quality control audits
  • Provides quality medical care according to standards established by the NLHD quality assurance program.
  • Supervises medical assistants and lab personnel in area of specific support services for patient care delivery.
  • Attends internal and external meetings, workshops, and conferences, and participates on task performance excellence committees, as necessary and/or required by NLHD

Requirements

Education

Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Program or Master's degree in Nurse Practitioner Program. New Mexico licensed certificate to practice as a physician, DO or MD, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant.
