Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are looking for an accounts receivable specialist to support billing and receivables operations for a transportation company in Lowell, Arkansas. This is a contract position suited for someone who is comfortable managing invoice activity, researching payment issues, and keeping financial records accurate in a fast-moving environment. The role works closely with internal teams as well as customers and vendors to help maintain smooth day-to-day accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and issue customer invoices on a consistent schedule, verifying charges and supporting details before submission.
• Track open customer balances, apply incoming payments, and follow up on past-due accounts to support timely collections.
• Review vendor billing for accuracy, confirm required approvals are in place, and flag discrepancies for correction.
• Reconcile invoices with purchase orders, account records, and related documentation to ensure complete and accurate processing.
• Investigate billing questions and payment variances, partnering with internal departments to resolve issues efficiently.
• Maintain customer account information and contribute to recurring receivables reporting and cash activity updates.
• Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams regarding invoicing, payments, and account status.
• Follow established accounting controls, documentation standards, and departmental procedures while assisting with additional finance-related tasks as needed.
