Position Overview
Our customer is looking to add a Help Desk Engineer to their team. They are transitioning from two 12‑hour shifts to three 8‑hour shifts. The role will cover the mid‑day shift (M‑F 2 pm‑11 pm) and the night shift (Sun‑Thu 10 pm‑7 am). Candidates must be self‑motivated and possess an engineering mindset.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Work closely with project managers and field technicians on customer‑facing projects.
- Capture project data, including check‑in/out times, time on site, and validate work completion documentation.
- Follow project documentation to ensure proper execution of support requirements.
- Provide service and troubleshooting support to field techs via phone, chat, and email.
- Implement, change, and create processes for evolving project needs.
- Remotely configure and program network cabling and equipment (hubs, switches, wireless, CCTV, UPS).
- Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network‑connected end‑user hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Execute or create scripts and programs as required.
- Configure, verify port settings and network settings remotely.
- Assist with any other technical needs as they arise.
- Adhere to all project safety requirements.
- Maintain strong written and verbal communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Read and interpret manufacturer instructions efficiently.
- Operate virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and manage switch configuration and programming.
- Handle analog/IP, switch, wireless, routers, UPS, and CCTV operations.
- Proficient use of computers and applications such as Microsoft Office, Service Now, secure
CRT, etc.
- Intermediate level experience in help desk support or related field.
- Skills:
Help desk support, troubleshooting, customer service, network troubleshooting. - Experience programming network switches and IP cameras.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and follow‑up skills.
- Ability to execute and develop programs and scripts.
