Overview
Talent Fish is casting a line for a Laboratory Assistant to support laboratory testing and sample-processing activities for our client in Lowell, Arkansas. This is an onsite, second-shift position focused on preparing and cutting test samples, operating basic laboratory equipment, documenting results, and assisting senior laboratory personnel and engineers.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant scientific background, strong attention to detail, and the ability to safely follow defined testing procedures and technical instructions.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field highly preferred and prioritized
  • General understanding of laboratory equipment and laboratory information systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and operating instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when recording test data
  • Ability to follow established test plans, procedures, and safety requirements
  • Basic computer skills and experience entering or retrieving information using standard software
  • Ability to work onsite during the second-shift schedule of 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

What You Will Do

  • Process, prepare, and cut laboratory test samples under the direction of senior laboratory staff.
  • Perform basic tests using general laboratory equipment and established testing procedures.
  • Build or adapt basic test setups and equipment as directed.
  • Follow defined test plans, datasheets, operational instructions, and laboratory procedures.
  • Operate designated laboratory equipment and tools safely and accurately.
  • Examine test samples and monitor sample performance during testing.
  • Read measuring instruments and interpret basic test results.
  • Record observed and calculated data on the appropriate datasheets.
  • Review test data and results with laboratory supervisors, technicians, and engineers.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, reports, and other documentation to communicate testing results.
  • Enter and retrieve information using computer systems and available software.
  • Perform routine care and basic maintenance of designated laboratory equipment and work areas.
  • Learn to operate basic tests for different customer samples and testing requirements.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders and customers during test setup and operation when directed.
  • Develop working knowledge of laboratory methods, instrumentation, systems, and job procedures.
  • Apply continuous improvement concepts and techniques throughout laboratory activities.
  • Follow all applicable workplace conduct, physical security, digital security, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Compensation Information
The expected salary range for this position is $16 - $18 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This role also qualifies for comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off. Talent Fish is committed to pay transparency and equal opportunity.
