Laboratory "Tester" Assistant

Location:

Lowell, AR 72745 Pay Rate: $17.50–$18.00/hour

Schedule:

Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM–10:30 PM

Overview

Supports laboratory testing and sample processing activities while working closely with senior laboratory staff, technicians, and engineers. This position requires strong attention to detail, basic measurement skills, and the ability to accurately follow test procedures and document results.

Responsibilities
  • Process laboratory samples and assist with routine testing activities.
  • Operate general laboratory equipment, tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Follow established test plans, procedures, datasheets, and work instructions.
  • Record observed and calculated test data accurately.
  • Read and interpret test results and review findings with laboratory staff.
  • Prepare basic charts, graphs, and reports to communicate test results.
  • Examine test samples and evaluate sample performance during testing.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and operational instructions.
  • Build or adapt basic test setups and equipment as directed.
  • Perform routine care and upkeep of assigned laboratory equipment and work areas.
  • Enter and retrieve information using computer systems and available laboratory software.
  • Work with engineers and laboratory technicians to communicate test data and findings.
  • Learn and perform basic customer-specific testing procedures.
  • Follow established safety, security, and Code of Conduct requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within laboratory operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to read and properly use a tape measure.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working with limited supervision.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory equipment and laboratory information systems.
  • Ability to follow detailed written instructions, test procedures, and specifications.
  • Basic computer skills for entering, retrieving, and documenting information.
