Choir Teacher

Position: Choir Teacher

Locations: Tri-Creek High School and Middle School

Reports To: Building Principals

The Secondary School Choir Teacher provides high-quality choral music instruction for students in grades 7-12. The teacher develops musicianship, vocal technique, and ensemble skills while preparing students for performances and supporting the school's fine arts program.

• Teach secondary school choral music classes
• Rehearse and prepare students for concerts, contests, and performances
• Teach vocal technique, sight-reading, and ensemble skills
• Select appropriate music for student ability levels
• Supervise students during rehearsals and performances, including some events outside the school day
• Communicate with administrators regarding program needs
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Valid Indiana teaching license with Music (P12) or Music Education certification
• Bachelor's degree in music education or a related field
• Prior choral or secondary music teaching experience preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Combination of classroom instruction, rehearsals, and performances
• Extended standing during rehearsals and concerts
• Occasional evening or weekend commitments

• Evaluated per the collective bargaining agreement and Indiana state law
• Salary and benefits per the TCSC Collective Bargaining Agreement
