Job Description

Title: Substitute Part Time Custodian

Pay: $12.00/hour - Flexible Schedule

Physical Demands: The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position must perform in carrying out essential job functions.

• Exerting 30 to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
• Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps up to 40 feet; walking or standing for extended periods.
• Perceiving sound, vision at near and far distances, depth perception, providing oral information, manual dexterity to operate equipment and tools, and handling various materials.
• Exposure to weather conditions such as heat, cold, wet, humid, or windy occasionally.

Classification: This is a temporary (part-time) position governed by the rules, policies, and procedures of the Board of School Trustees. Pay is hourly based on the Part-Time Custodian schedule.

Reports To: Supervisor of Custodial Services or Designee

Job Goal: To maintain school facilities, buildings, or office spaces in a clean, orderly, and secure manner following a schedule; and perform related work as required.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Sweep and mop floors.
• Vacuum rugs and carpets.
• Dust, wash, and polish furniture and woodwork.
• Empty and clean waste receptacles.
• Wash windows and walls, polish metalwork, and clean chalkboards.
• Arrange furniture and equipment for events or meetings.
• Pick up paper and debris from grounds and adjacent areas.
• Sweep concrete surfaces and remove snow as directed.
• Perform emergency cleanup for breakage, vandalism, spills, or illness.
• Perform minor maintenance to keep areas safe and operational.
• Report and help prevent vandalism.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Attendance: Attendance and punctuality are essential.
