Senior Staff Accountant

Position Overview

You are invited to join The Planet Group as a Senior GL Accountant, responsible for ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and driving continuous improvement across core accounting operations. This dynamic role focuses on integrating FP&A accrual processes into the accounting function and enhancing internal controls within a fast‑moving software company.

• Lead the transition of FP&A accrual processes into accounting, owning booking, documentation, and process streamlining.
• Prepare and maintain reconciliations between sub‑ledger and general ledger systems.
• Prepare non‑recurring and recurring journal entries on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly or quarterly cadence, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Partner with the accounting team to identify, support, and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain and continuously improve existing internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist with month‑end close and other ad‑hoc projects as needed.

• 5+ years in corporate accounting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• CPA certification (nice to have).
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (nice to have).

Contract position, 6 months with potential to extend. Hybrid location in Lowell, MA. Hourly rate: $55–$60 per hour.
