Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager (Construction)
Key Responsibilities- Assist Project Managers with the day-to-day management of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Prepare, review, track, and maintain project submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation.
- Process and manage lien waivers, subcontractor invoices, pay applications, and vendor documentation.
- Support project cost tracking and financial reporting activities.
- Assist in preparing and updating three-week look-ahead schedules and overall project schedules.
- Participate in project meetings and prepare accurate meeting minutes and follow-up action items.
- Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to support project execution.
- Maintain and organize project files and documentation within Procore and other project management systems.
- Visit project sites regularly to gain field exposure and support construction operations.
- Monitor project progress and assist with issue resolution to help maintain project schedules and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and contractual requirements.
- Support project closeout activities including punch lists, warranties, and final documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Internship, co-op, or prior construction experience is a plus, but entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of commercial construction processes, documentation, and project coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in both office and field environments. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Experience with Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar construction/project management software preferred.
